Glen Shuffler
Director
Glen Shuffler grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, but has spent most of his adult life in Austin. He was an English major at the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a BA with Honors. After a period of travel and working with writers and artists at a typography firm in Houston, he entered the University of Texas School of Law, receiving his JD.
Glen has had extensive experience as an attorney in the private and public sectors. He has served in the Office of the Texas Secretary of State and in the Texas Legislative Council. He currently has a private legal and governmental consulting practice.
Glen was the Project Director and Chief Revisor for a comprehensive, substantive revision of the Texas Election Code. He has drafted innumerable statutes and constitutional provisions that are current Texas law. He is the editor of Texas Election Laws and the author of Texas Municipal Election Laws, both published by Hart InterCivic. He has also authored law review articles on Texas election law.
Glen has long supported various non-profit and charitable organizations and has served on the governing boards of several such groups. He currently serves on the Vestry of St. David's Episcopal Church in Austin.
Glen lives in Austin, Texas, with his spouse Nita, the head librarian of St. Stephen's Episcopal School. His son Benjamin attends Trinity College in Connecticut. Glen's interests include fiction writing, art, travel, fly-fishing, and good conversation.
