Footsteps run,
Gossip in the air!
Even kids pulling each other’s hair!
Fists in each other’s faces!
Kissing, holding hands.
Kids fill the land!
Teachers yell
Untied shoes—there’s a kid that fell!
Kids making plans to skip class!
Kids in band—woodwinds, brass.
Bumping,
Then fussing,
Gosh now it’s cussing,
Wait!
Kids leave.
Footsteps silent.
Doors close.
That’s the end.
Halls end,
Classes start!
